今天Wendy同学作值日报告，引用企业家英瓦尔‧坎普拉德的一句话：Making mistakes is the privilege of the active — of those who can correct their mistakes and put them right.犯错是行动者的专利 – 行动者可以修正自己的错误，转往对的方向。作为普通人，我们不免会犯错误，但关键是要面对并勇于改正错误。她的跑操口号是：We are open-minded and tolerant.我们豁达宽容。对语法学习，根据提供的PPT课件，及练习训练中的感悟，分别有Jack、John、Albert、Emily几位同学分别进行解读：动词不定式作定语，一般置于被修饰的名词后面，与名词之间常有一定的逻辑关系。具体如下：名词或代词为动词不定式的逻辑主语。并让每天第一个进教室的Wendy同学说出：Wendy was the first student to come into the classroom.名词或代词为不定式的逻辑宾语。并让作为班长的Kobe同学造句：I have a meeting to attend.如果不定式是不及物动词，需要加介词才能与名词之间构成。动宾关系。This is a good topic to talk about.另外，名词与不定式有时是同位语关系。如William同学说他有能力做这项工作：William has the ability to do the work. Sharon同学表示要做出改变的愿望：She expressed a wish to make a change.Tom同学说他没有机会在这个地区实施他的战略：He doesn’t have the chance to carry out his strategy in this region. 政治课代表Monica同学说的是官员们正试图找到帮助村庄摆脱贫困的方法：The officials are trying to find out a way to help the villages get rid of poverty.对常接不定式作定语的名词有：ability, ambition, chance, wish, attempt, decision, moment, need, plan, promise, reason, time, way, courage, opportunity等。动词不定式作定语，有被动形式。喜欢看书的George同学自然很容易说出在那里要建的房子将会是个图书馆：The house to be built there will be a library.Helen同学说她是第一个获此奖项的人：She was the first person to be awarded such a prize.随后 Amander同学列了一张要邀请的人的名单来观看她的精彩表演：She made a list of the people to be invited for her towering performance.同时还要注意的是：当中心词是序数词或被序数词、形容词最高级及the next, the only, the last等限定时，常用不定式作后置定语。校运动会上为班级长跑争光的Linda同学回答她是第一个在奥运会上获得金牌的女子：She was the first woman to win the gold medal in the Olympic Games.下面这句话自然有被纳入自管会的Carol同学来说：She is the only person to be admitted to the self-administered committee. 动词不定式作结果状语，常见于以下结构：在too…to…结构中，表示反面结果。活到老，学到老：It’s never too late to learn.当问到Angela同学，有时会激动得说不出话来：He is too excited to speak.在…enough to…结构中。Mary同学非常幸运和Simon同学同桌：I am fortunate enough to sit with Simon. I don’t know him well enough to ask him for help when I come across something difficult. 还用在never to… 结构中，在only to…结构中，不定式常表示没有预料到的结果。如Simon同学赶到目的，发现Louis同学不在宿舍：Simon rushed to the destination, only to find Louis not in the dormitory. 在so… as to…结构中。在校园卡拉OK英语歌曲比赛中展露头角的Albert同学唱得非常好，得了第一名：Albert sang so well as to come out first in the singing competition. 在such 名词 as to…结构中。把饭卡弄丢了的Louis同学，按理说他不是这种粗心的人，饭卡丢失，只是告知了我一声，而没有去办公室挂失：He won’t be such a careless person to forget to report the loss of his meal card to the office. 并通过元认知英语笔记内容加以巩固：This afternoon, I went to the school library to find books about hurricanes.
