7月21日，雷州市第三届草根足球联赛闭幕。比赛历经2个多月时间，上演了120场足球球宴，最终由英利花神队夺冠，南兴润利队获得亚军，九龙湾队居第三。

此次联赛由该市草根足球联盟主办，采用8人制、单循环比赛，共有16支队伍300多名球员参加。60多天里，球员们打出了异常激烈精彩的球赛，同时以文明行为显现出良好的精神风貌。

近年来，雷州市高度重视发展体育运动，不断加强体育设施建设，促进了体育运动特别是足球项目的迅速发展。
